Who we are
QuickCopy AI ("we", "us") operates the QuickCopy AI Chrome extension and website at quickcopy.ai. For all privacy-related questions, contact us at [email protected].
What the extension does
QuickCopy AI is an in-page assistant for writing, shopping, and job applications. When you run an AI action (summarize, reply, product brief, cover letter, and more), selected text and relevant page context are sent to our hosted API to generate a result. This processing is required to provide the service.
Data we process (required for service)
When you use the hosted API, we process:
- Selected text — the content you choose to act on
- Page context — adapter id, page type, optional title, and feature-specific fields needed for the action (for example product details on shopping pages, or job details on job pages)
- Action metadata — action type, success/failure, latency, and token counts
We use this data only to generate your result and enforce usage limits. We do not store the text you selected or the generated output in metering logs.
Optional tools may also send content you provide for processing (for example extracting text from a career document you upload, or rendering an application pack PDF). That content is used to perform the requested action.
Account data
If you sign in with Google or an email magic link, we store:
- Your email address
- Your subscription plan (Free or Pro)
- A Stripe customer id if you subscribe to Pro
We do not sell your data.
Metering
We count generations per install or signed-in account to enforce Free and Pro limits:
- Without an account: a small daily trial (currently 5 generations per day, tracked by install and IP)
- Signed-in Free: 30 generations per day
- Pro: unlimited generations
Metering metadata includes action type, adapter id, success/failure, latency, and token counts — not page content or generated text. This metering is required to run the hosted service and is stored separately from optional product analytics.
Usage telemetry (hosted free mode)
When you use the hosted free API (default QuickCopy servers, without your own API key), usage telemetry is required to run generations. This includes product-usage events such as action used, success/failure, latency, adapter id, and extension version. We do not store selected text or generated output in analytics.
You can avoid hosted telemetry by using your own API key in the extension settings, or by pointing the extension at a local development API URL.
Optional analytics (your own API key / local API)
When you use your own API key or a local API URL, hosted telemetry is not required. You may still opt in to anonymous usage analytics via the extension settings toggle. We do not collect page content, URLs, or generated text in analytics.
Third-party processors
We use trusted providers to run the service:
- Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions
- Resend — delivery of email magic-link sign-in messages
- Cloud AI provider (Azure OpenAI) — generates AI output from your selected text and related context
These providers process data only as needed to perform their function.
Shopping data
Shopping preferences (budget, priorities, deal-breakers) are stored locally in the extension.
Wishlist items, compare pins, product URLs, prices, and price-watch settings may be stored locally. When you are signed in, wishlist and compare lists can be synced to our servers so they are available across your devices and for optional sharing.
If you create a share link, the shared wishlist or compare list (and item details you chose to share) becomes available to anyone with that link via quickcopy.ai.
Related-product links open Google Products search pages in your browser; we do not scrape Google or other retailers for live prices on our servers.
Price watches
If you enable a price watch, the extension may schedule a daily background check while Chrome is open to re-read the product page and compare it to your target price. When a watched item reaches your target, the extension may show a desktop notification. Price watches only run for items you opted into.
Jobs and career data
Career profile details you enter or import (for example headline, skills, experience notes, and contact fields used for application packs) are stored locally in the extension and may be sent with job-related AI actions so results can be tailored to you.
Job applications you track (role, company, URL, status, and related notes) may be stored locally. When you are signed in, your job tracker can be synced to our servers. If you create a share link, shared tracker data may be available to anyone with that link.
Local and browser storage
- Extension — settings, install id, analytics consent (required for hosted free), action history, shopping lists, job tracker data, and career profile fields are stored locally in your browser as needed for the features you use
- Website — sign-in session tokens are stored in
sessionStoragewhile you are signed in
Account deletion
You can delete your account from:
- The Chrome extension popup (signed in → Delete account)
- quickcopy.ai/account (signed in → Delete account)
Deleting your account will:
- Cancel any active Stripe subscription
- Revoke refresh tokens and magic-link tokens
- Unlink installs from your user (install rows remain for anonymous metering)
- Delete your user record and associated synced shopping lists and job applications from QuickCopy
- Clear
user_idfrom analytics events (billing events may retain anonymized rows)
Data stored only in your browser (local settings, local history, local copies of lists) remains until you clear extension data or uninstall. Your Stripe customer record and payment history may remain in Stripe for accounting and compliance. We remove QuickCopy account data promptly. Anonymized billing and metering rows may be retained up to 90 days per the retention policy below.
Retention
- Billing/metering events: 90 days
- Analytics events: 90 days (required on hosted free; optional when using your own API key or local API)
- Synced shopping and job data: until you delete it or delete your account
- Account data: until you delete your account
Your rights
You may request access to or deletion of your account data by deleting your account in the extension or on the website, or by emailing [email protected].
If you are in the EU or UK, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children
QuickCopy AI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
